NEW ROLE FOR SUSAN ON THE KSM STAFF

After many years of ministry work at the Kirk, we are ecstatic to announce that Susan Needler will be moving into a new role within the Student Ministry. Susan will begin her new role as Associate Director of Student Ministry on August 1st.

Susan has been a dedicated Student Ministry Staff member almost longer than this new rising class of 6th graders have been alive, which is why we are so excited to see Susan take on a role that will allow her to utilize her gifts even more and help oversee more of the Student Ministry that she has been dedicated to over all of these years.

Susan will help oversee a lot of our High School ministry, lead a D Group, assist/train our female D Group leaders, and, of course, continue on with leading our Hospitality Events.

This role is meant to serve as a complementary role of our other Associate Director of Student Ministry, Andrew Schonhoff, and we could think of no one greater to serve in a complementary role than Susan.

Most of you all know Susan, but we hope that you can take the time to share in the excitement with us and welcome and celebrate Susan into her new role!

WELCOME ANDREW TO THE KSM STAFF

We are excited to announce a new hire for the Kirk Student Ministry.  Andrew Schonhoff will begin working with us as the Associate Director of Student Ministry beginning August 1st in partnership with Kirk Day School where he will continue to serve as a part-time 5th Grade homeroom teacher.

Andrew has been serving with us as a volunteer for the past two years and has been a Kirk Day School 5th and 6th Grade teacher for the past 7 years.  We cannot wait to see what the Lord does with Andrew in this unique role that will help continue bridging the ministries of KDS and KSM.

Andrew will assist in overseeing a lot of our Middle School Ministry while leading a D Group.  We are also eager to see him continue coaching at Parkway Central, which serves our outreach ministry well, being that Parkway Central is the school district that the Kirk resides in.

His first duty for us will be finishing up our Missions Trip in Japan where he will start as a volunteer and finish as our Associate Director of Student Ministry...that’s pretty amazing! (Does that give him dual citizenship?)  After he returns, he will jump right into teacher meetings and will hopefully be catching up on sleep. Join us in the next month or two to welcome Andrew to the Kirk Student Ministry staff.

PARENT MEETING

Sunday, July 14th @ 5pm-6pm will be our Japan Team Parent Meeting. We will meet at the Kirk in the Chapel. We strongly suggest that all team members and their parents are present for this meeting. This meeting should answer all of the final questions remaining before our departure on the 21st. We will send out a specific email to the team and families with finer details about the meeting this week.

VBS IN JAPAN

We just got word that we will have the honor of creating and working a Vacation Bible School while we will be serving in Japan. This will be one of many ways we will have the opportunity to see and bring God's truth in Japan.

We have felt so loved and excited by the generosity of you all. We are so close to reaching our goal before we leave on July 21st and it is because of God's faithfulness and your willingness to send us out!

If you would like to help push us past our mark, there is still time.

WHAT DOES MAKING A GOOD IMPRESSION LOOK LIKE?

SEASON 1 / EPISODE 7 - GOOD IMPRESSIONS

NEW EPISODE COMING SOON!

Ep. 4 - WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH?

We often confuse the role of the church with the role of culture and the role of school.  There are definitely ways where they cross over and we will talk about those.  We will also address where the church is called to stand out in the life of a teenager.  This episode we bring in Jonathan Jakes to answer this question.  What is the purpose of the church is a loaded question, but we want to address it specifically with teenagers in mind.

Sleep, rest, and periods of breaks are important to a good flow of growth. We hope that you can take this time find that rest.
